"Were the experiences good or bad?" many people are inclined to ask members and former members. Te reality is not so simple.
What makes the Neocatechumenal Way so tragic is that it gives members a needed dose of positive things such as increased spirituality and life dedication (including the dedication to end drugs and mend relationships), yet it gives these things to members on condition they accept the negative aspects as well: group confessions, ignoring family and friends, arranged and/or loveless marriages, being pushed to reject the outside world, being pushed to donate exorbitant amounts of money to the group, losing control over one's life decisions and beliefs...
Better would be to either change the Neocatechumenate to adopt such healthy practices as being allowed to duck out of public confessions, choose one's marital partner, and keep their money and personal life out of others' scrutinizing; or to leave the Way altogether, and trying to get any (genuine) friends one has made out of it and into a better lifestyle.
The most important thing we can do at this point is to try to speak to as many former members as possible. They will be better equipped than anyone else to help heal their brothers and sisters still trapped in the negative aspects of the Way.
Former Italian members or testimonies can be found at such sites as www.neocatecumenali.blogspot.com , http://www.reocities.com/Athens/Delphi/6919/ita_index.htm , and http://www.internetica.it/neocatecumenali/. Former Spanish members and others opposed to the Way's practices are at http://laverdaddeloskikos.blogspot.com/ , http://caminoneocatecumenalsecta.blogspot.com/. A French site run by a psychologist is

An English language blog post somewhat critical about the Way is here: http://tasithoughts.com/2008/07/06/the-growing-neocatechumenal-controversy-and-chasm-in-the-catholic-church/ . Another site that is thoroughly critical about the Way is http://church-mouse.lanuera.com/new/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=4&Itemid=854 .
Unfortunately, many of these links are old, and sometimes you don't get an email response. However, they list important information about the reality of the Neocatechumenate as experienced by actual parishioners, both in and around the Way. It has already been said that the number of ex-members is more than three times the number of current members.
Perhaps the longer we look, the more people we will find who are willing to add their numbers to the crusade to tell the truth about the Way.
